A Message From Mr. K

Welcome to Spanger Elementary School!

As we begin this new year at Spanger Elementary School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children.  I believe in setting high expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. One of my key goals, working closely with our very talented and caring staff, is to help Spanger students become some of the best readers, writers, thinkers, creators, mathematicians, artists, musicians and school and community leaders among all the students of Roseville. Together in partnership with all of you, we can make this a reality.

In my 25 years of experience as an educator, I have learned that a strong positive school culture is cultivated by recognizing that open and honest communication is an essential building block of any relationship.  We have revamped our school-wide climate plan to help students make positive choices and help them follow our school-wide expectations:  Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. We believe teaching students the skills they need and reinforcing the expectations through recognition when they demonstrate them consistently is necessary to help each child be successful in both school and society!

Finally, school staff and families must work together, in an extended family environment, to ensure success for all our students.  It is everyone’s responsibility to teach children the skills they will need to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.  With that in mind, please consider joining one of the many parent -leadership teams we have on campus (PTC, School Site Council, English Language Advisory Club, etc.). Students thrive when families stay positively involved in their academic and social emotional growth.

I hope you will visit our website and campus to get a snapshot of life at our school and to find out about events, curriculum and programs.  If you have any questions or need information not found on the website, I encourage you to call (916) 771-1820.  I will make every effort to return calls within 24 hours of receiving a message.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

In partnership,

Kenneth Kikosicki, Principal
